DICKENS TONIGHT – RAIN OR MOONLIGHT

“Dickens of A Christmas” canceled / TREE LIGHTING set for THURSDAY, Dec. 2, at 6:30 p.m., Denny’s Plaza

Most of you know that because of weather concerns, “A Dickens of A Christmas” scheduled for tonight has been canceled. “Dickens” will not be rescheduled this year.

However, Denny’s and the Spartanburg Downtown Association will host the Denny’s Tree Lighting beginning at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, at Denny’s Plaza. The Spartanburg Community Band will perform. There will be children’s activities – including ornament making and cookie decorating – in the lobby of the Denny’s building. Hot cocoa and cider will be available.


Mark your calendars for Nov. 29, 2011, (Tuesday after Thanksgiving) for the next “A Dickens of A Christmas.”

on Main Street in Downtown Spartanburg

Wear your rain hat & boots – and enjoy entertainment indoors and outdoors!

Enjoy strolling carolers, musicians, theatre, band and choral groups from many of our schools

Visit Santa in Daniel Morgan Square or inside The Sandwich Factory if rain

Have your family photo done in Victorian attire at The Sandwich Factory

Watch the 50 foot tree light up in Denny’s Plaza at the tree lighting ceremony at 7:30 pm hosted by Bill Drake

Free Carriage Rides around Richardson Park and Morgan Square

Food tents in Lewis Miller Park and along Main Street will provide a huge array of choices! Pizza, chili, hot dogs, crab cakes, grilled cheese, soups, chicken kabobs, egg rolls, Reuben sliders!
