DNA, Endogamy, and South Carolina Family Trees

Many South Carolina communities show endogamy (repeated intermarriage), which can make DNA match lists look closer than a single shared ancestor explains. Use DNA as a clue network, not a solo proof:

Group matches by shared surnames and shared counties/districts.
Build paper trails in the correct pre-county jurisdictions first.
Prefer segments that align with a documented migration corridor (Wagon Road, Pee Dee, Lowcountry, mill villages).
