- 1769 judicial districts: Beaufort, Camden, Charles Town, Cheraws, Georgetown, Ninety-Six, Orangeburg organize superior courts—labels may predate modern county names.
- ~1785 county courts: Many modern counties take clearer local court identity (including Georgetown if formed then). Equity/probate/deeds densify under county names gradually.
