When the town sits on the Greenville–Spartanburg line, search both hubs every time.
Greer and other border communities generate the classic Upstate error: researching only one modern county. Always search both Greenville and Spartanburg for deeds, newspapers, and churches near the line.
- City directories may list the town under either county’s metro orbit depending on year.
- School, church, and burial choices often ignore the surveyor’s line.
